trued that i downloaded it but when i try to set it up it says error extracting temp data

Well... on Windows an error with extracting temp data could has something to do with insufficient admin rights.
Maybe your security software has a problem with the files, turn it off for the installation could help.

I am using windows comp and its my comp I am the only user so idk how i would fix admin rights

Have you tried right clicking the installation file and run as administrator?

Either what smok said, or try to install it somewhere else than C:\
You can also try paint.net, which is a pretty good thing to start with, as well.

Gimp will take A LOT of time to get used to it. At least it did for me.
Now you have to learn how to use it. Liberator already posted a few links:

Practice. Do the things I didn't do... look at color theory, lighting and shading, perspective and use reference images.

Also, I use Gimp and Pyxel Edit, but pyxel edit is a paid program ($15USD I think) but good for animation.



To get things started you can use the templates from the graphics submission thread, our take some of the web to practice with them.
